Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.5
Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit
4 x SB3, via wi-fi
I've been using SlimServer/SqueezeCenter since 2007, starting with two SB3s back then, now with four of them. I'd like to start by thanking the volunteers who keep improving the server software; their work is much appreciated by many! (I hope this where they hang out - or is it on http://forums.logitech.com?)
A few things have been improved since 2007, but surprisingly, one of the bugs present way back then still exists (along with some new ones, of course!). I was never able to get SqueezeboxServer working properly on my Windows 2000 Pro system, and the last SqueezeCenter version that worked acceptably for me was 7.2. But recently my 10-year-old PC died, and so I built a new 4-core machine and installed Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit. This allowed me to try Logitech Media Server, and I currently have v7.7.5 running.
I'd just like to know if the bug from 2007 will ever be fixed, and whether the most egregious new bug will be fixed soon, or whether, indeed, either or both is just due to my settings!
Old bug:
When I press the Sleep button, the currently playing song stops at the end, as expected. But next time I press Play, the SAME song starts again, instead of the NEXT song in the current playlist.
New bug:
First thing in the morning I start the music going through my hi-fi system by pressing Play on the SB3 remote. Later, when I get down to my home-office, I start Firefox (v36.0) (on the new PC where my music collection and LMS reside), which opens with the previous pages I was displaying when I closed it the previous night, one of them being 'Logitech Media Server'. As soon as Firefox opens that page, the currently-playing track stops abruptly and a new one starts playing. Looking at the playlist in Firefox I can't see the name of the track that was abruptly stopped, so I don't know the relationship between what WAS playing and what starts playing at this time.
Is this fixable?
