I was wondering if there is a way, and maybe I've just overlooked it all these years, to display Artists - Albums in chronological order, by sorting using the year tag? I know I could do a custom Sort Album tag and do it manually, I was just hoping that it might be an option in set up that I've just missed seeing.
Early on in my ripping/tagging I did an album sort tag in iTunes so they would display that way on my iPod, but when I redid everything for lossless when I was preparing for getting my Touch I didn't take the time to mess with it. I do have a few that do have that tag, and when I first started using the server it didn't seem to read the tag and all albums were alphabetical whether the tag was there or not, so I didn't worry about doing more. However with the new 7.9 install I noticed that my CCR albums that have the sort tag are actually showing up in chronological order now. So that got me to wondering if there was a way to have that done in the server instead of retagging the 1000s of albums/tracks that I would want to show up chronological.
Since so many cool handy things have been added/improved with 7.9 I wondered if this might happen to be as well.
Thanks
Ray
