cannot change server settings

Hi
I've moved my music folder. But I don't seem to be able to change the settings - I type in the new folder in the basic settings, press save settings and it reverts to what it was before.
I think it may be permissions on some config file somewhere, but could someone point me in the right direction as to where the config file is on a standard ubuntu system installed from the 7.9 deb file
