Hi,
I hope this is not a FAQ and apologize in case I overlooked the answer somewhere else. I am a slimp3 user since 2003 and I around around 10-12 players in 3 locations, so likely I am a power user.
Situation:
I have a LMS (7.9) at one location and use this to listen to music on various other locations (via LAN - LAN and LAN to Client VPN).
On of the remote locations has some bandwidth limitations but hosts 6 local players (squeezelite, touch, receiver). I use them multi-room synced. In the default setup they all request their audio payload separate from the LMS or in case of direct streaming from the strem source (only if not synced).
I do not want to replicate the central NAS with the music to the remote locations.
Question:
Is there a way to set up a local payload proxy to make sure the LMS only sends the stream payload once to the remote location, some kind of streaming proxy or multicast.
Hope this makes sense and thanks a lot for your answer in advance.
Lothar
