Is LMS scanning correctly?

When I do a new and changed scan in LMS 7.7.2 is it right that every time it does changed files part it always seems to have approximately 4000 files to be scan out of my library of approx 10,000 tracks?

For example nothing has changed in my music library yet the scan lists 4466 changed files (and 3 new files) and I have no idea why. Is this normal?
