alac (Apple Lossless); upnp; decoding failure

Hello,

Would like to be be able to send Apple Lossless files over upnp to a squeezebox radio or touch.

I can send MP3 and Flac files fine.

ALAC files are rejected, this is the error in the server log
Slim::Player::Squeezebox2::statHandler (150) Error: 00:04:20:2c:82:92: Decoder does not support file format, code 0

I installed lame and set it to bitrate limit, but the ALAC files are still rejected.

The Apples Lossless files are stored on a Synology NAS.

In this case the UPNP client is an IOS client (DS Audio) on an iphone. The squeezebox radio and squeezebox touch show up on the list of clients that dsaudio can send files to.

If the files are FLAC or MP3 it works, files are streamed to client.

But if the files are apple losless they are rejected.

Is there a setting that I can change that will make this work?
