I am running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 on a QNAP TS-251 and have issues with scanning in that my albums are appearing multiple times.
For example, if I navigate to Home > Artists > ACDC I get...

My installation was working fine a few weeks ago. I've even reinstalled the QLMS but the issue remains.

I thought I'd ask this question after looking at it for years.
On my 'Home' Screen in LMS I have 'My Music', then 'Radio', then 'My Apps'.
I am not sure what exactly 'Radio' is. If I expand on 'Radio' and click on 'My Presets', I get the following message 'Visit tunein.com - for free sign up '
And of course, I have been signed up for Tunein quite some time and use it daily under 'My Apps'.
So can someone straighten me out on what exactly 'Radio' is and what it is looking at for 'My Presets'?

The newly updated version of SOX apparently does not support DSD. There is a version of SOX which does.

Are you using the Music & Artist Information plugin? It does store
copies of the artist pictures in there. How many tracks do you have?
Would the file still grow beyond the GB? I did add a change a while back
to keep the file under control. While it would still grow, it shouldn't
grow infinitely as before. But this change actually required a manual
deletion of the file to take effect.

Yes, it's safe, but it will slow down certain activities, as pre-cached
artwork might need to be re-built.

I'm getting a bunch of the following errors when attempting to open the LMS control panel from the system tray (with admin privileges)
It started a couple of updates ago. Tried re-install, rollback of LMS and clean install. Web client working normally.

You need to tell us a lot more before we can help.
- what OS are you running?
What version of it?
- when was it last patched?
If more than a week ago, patch/upgrade as needed to get your OS fully
up to date and try again.
- Are you running a firewall in the LMS server and is it blocking
port 9000?
- what software is the conflict with?
Show us the full message.
- can this be a fight over use of port 9000?
If you're running Linux, try:
- an nmap scan of the machine running LMS will show what ports
are in use.
- run 'sudo lsof -iTCP| less' on the machine running LMS to see
all the open network ports on it
- Either way, use /etc/services to you translate port numbers into
service names or vice versa.
I may be able to help if you're running one of the Linux distros: if
not, somebody else may know how to solve your problem, but whoever does
will need to know what I've just asked because its rather difficult to
know what's going on without these details.

I'm just curious to know what the (theoretical) maximum number of clients might be for LMS running on a Pi in a multi-client installation. I know it might vary depending on the base OS and other factors, but assuming a Pi3, is there an approximate set of limitations (library size, number of end points / clients) beyond which LMS might struggle?

I just built a new PC and have found an issue I've never come across before. When I click LMS or if LMS auto starts when booting to Windows, it doesn't start in Admin mode...even though I have Administration selected in the shortcut. So I end up getting the funky red text. If I exit LMS and reboot it again, it will then start in Admin.
So why does the Admin setting get ignored on the first boot?

Ive recently set up PIcore and Ive re-added Radio stations on the preset button using favourites.
All working fine apart from the display on the boom does show track details. It just shows BBC6music (mp3 128kbps).
I cant remember how Id set this up previously.

Hi,
I have LMS 7.7.6 (7.9.1 failed to run on my Centos server - not debugged it yet...) and have enabled UPnP client (advanced/networking) with the hope of accessing a DLNA music source. The source in question is a Samsung Optical Smart Hub (SE-208BW) and can be browsed from a DLNA client on my android phone, and music played from the CD. From within LMS I can see the optical drive and navigate to the optical disk, but when I try to play a track it fails - incidentally if I get the track URL from the frame source in the browser, I can paste it into a new window and the music plays. The stream format is WAV. So I have proven the DLNA source works, and that LMS can browse to the track URL but then fails to play the stream.
I would like to get this working so I can then have a networked CD player than can stream to all squeeze players.

When I reboot my player custom menus are lost.
I have Squeezelite v1.9.0-1111/piCorePlayer 4.0.0 installed on two RPi players.
I installed Custom Browse (from SBS Settings/Plugins) created a new menu and saved it as e.g.: Pop.cb.values.xml. The configuration directory is set to: /home. There are no error messages. I enable it and restart LMS and everything is fine. But when I reboot the player the menu has disappeared (including from the Manage Menus list) although all my configuration settings for Custom Browse are retained. The same happens on both players.
Sorry if this is a newbie error but I have studied the Wiki and searched the forum and issues and tried everything multiple times.

Hello every one
Since several months my lms crashes very often (at least once a day). I reinstalled it with no effect on stability.
It's installed on a debian stretch VM (esxi 5.5), last 7.9.1 build. The behaviour was the same with 7.9.2 builds.
I was about to post in shairtunes plugin thread but i'm not sure this plugin is responsible.
When lms crashes i can see dozen of squeezeboxserver processes running.
I mainly use jeedom, spotty, shairtunes2W and upnpbridge plugins.
My players are 1 squeezebox3, 1 squeezebox boom, 2 sonos play1, 1 zettaly (sort of android tab with speakers with squeezeplayer).
For now logs aren't very helpful. When i have a crash the server.log can fill up to 2Gb, not very handy.
Is there someone to point me in the right direction especially for knowing what to log?
edit: I can see multiple connection/disconnection of zettaly zqueezeplayer client causing each time a new shairport-helper process to start.

Hi-
So I think I got the SiriusXM Streaming working with PlayHLS plugin (yay!)
The initial station I 'tuned' just shows the url of the stream. I found out I could go into the favorites setting via the web and specify a name.
A newly added favorite with an url and a name worked - I got the name
But nothing I can do seems to make the original station show it's name - is there a cache or something I can delete that will fix that up?
Then I was hoping to have it show a graphic (at least one for each URL. And I found I could edit:
C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\prefs\favorites.opml
And I placed the graphic (a png) here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Slim\Plugin\Favorites\HTML \EN\html\images

Again it worked for a 'new station' but I can't seem to edit any existing favorite to get an icon.

What are the correct settings to prevent the LMS System Preferences dialog from stealing focus away from the app I'm running. I may be playing a full screen game tournament, say, and a software update for LMS is available and I'm yanked onto another virtual screen unexpectedly and I have to quickly switch back to the game and attempt to recover.
I want to be notified of the update, but not have it steal the focus from my current app.

Hi All,
My Q is with LMS on HDD can I increase the playlist size beyond 100?
A couple of weeks ago I retrieved my SBT from storage (after 5 years), couldn't find the NAS, so I've been running it with my WD passport HDD with LMS. It's been working a treat and very pleased. TBH, I don't remember a lot of the details of how I set this up! I very recently installed the Tidal app, again it works really well. I've now made some playlists and found that a max of 100 songs will load. I've found a couple of guides that mention a 100 song playlist max with HDD setup

And I've found several threads on this forum about increasing the playlist size by logging into LMS Settings> Advanced> something (!) but I don't think I can do this with LMS on the HDD.
Do I need to find my NAS and have this setup to have playlists of >100 tracks? (As the link above states).

Just a feedback this time. :p
Since upgrading the db drivers, scanning time and file sizes are down by lot.
I do think that building the fulltext index takes longer now, but overall scanning time is down!
