I have been using an SB3 (Classic) for over five years with no problems. The Squeezebox server runs on a NAS box. Everything was find until I recently upgraded the Squeezebox server to the latest available for my NAS box (7.7.2). (I know, I hear you shouting "why upgrade if everything is working?!" - well I know, it was a mistake, but that is why I am asking for help here).
Soon after that, I started having issues with rebuffering, with the SB3 not responding properly to commands, with menus first not scrolling and then scrolling many items at a time, having to reset the SB3 by pulling the power...
I though this must be due to the upgrade so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no difference. Then my SB3 died alltogether. I tested the PSU - 5V. I took the unit apart and reseated the WiFi card. No joy. I then tested the voltage of the PSU under load - fluctuated between 1.5 and 5 V so I decided to buy a new one.
Now with a new PSU, the SB3 works again, but I still have the issues with rebuffering. I have tried both a factory reset of the SB3 and of the Xilinx chip - no difference.
I figure that I could have a couple of different issues:
1. It could be the WiFi card is not feeling well.
2. It could be that I need to downgrade to an older version of the Squeezecenter. (I have 7.6.1 and 7.5.4)
3. It could be both...
Before I spend significant time experimenting I thought I would ask for some advice here. Any ideas what might be the issue? Where should I start? If I do downgrade, can I take the favorites file from the 7.7.2 installation and copy it onto a downgraded version?
