Squeeze Cntrl app no longer switches between MySB.com and LMS ..

Hello

Recently using this app to switch remotely between MySB.com and LMS 7.9x does not work (but does in the other dirction).

Switching via hardware (Touch or Boom) works fine.

Has anything changed on LMS side which could account for this ?

Thanks

Logitech Media Server will not log onto squeezebox.com

I am a newbie to posting so forgive me if i have not done it correctly

I can longer see my favorites to log on to a radio station. I can only get onto radio stationby switching to the squeesebox.com server. Reading elsewhere it would that meida player is not signing onto squeezebox.com due to media not retaining my password. I have tried typing it back in but it does not retain it. is there anything I can do to rectify this.

Hi,

I've been using SqueezeboxServer, version 7.6.1 on my server for some time.
I upgraded at the weekend to LMS 7.8.0 but the service keeps crashing.
I've tried a number of versions but no joy.

The log has this :

Unknown Windows version [2:6:2] at /<C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\SqueezeSvr.exe>Win32.pm line 530.
Perl interpreter failed at /<C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\SqueezeSvr.exe>AnyEvent/Util.pm line 52.

I'd appreciate anyones advice.

thanks,
Shay

LMS on WD MyBookLive does not finish scanning

$

Hi all,
I am running LMS 7.7.5 on a WD MyBookLive 1 TB. The system was running smoothly for quite some time. I recently added a big new batch of songs in my Music folder and I asked LMS to rescan from scratch. The scanning process starts fine but it never ends. Actually, it freezes at some point, after scanning approximately 10.000 songs. I stop the scanning process and the system still works with the scanned songs but I just want to have my entire music collection (around 15.000 songs / flac files).
I tried many workarounds, like reinstalling LMS, deleting configuration files and rebuilding the DB, etc. with no result. It looks to me like a space in the database files needs to be augmented but I am not sure. I tried to upgrade to 7.8, still I have the same issue.
Has anyone any idea on how to resolve this?
Many thanks in advance.

There are other threads about this. You have to patch some script in
SSOTS, as it does only accept LMS up to 7.8.x. Search for SSOTS and your
error message.

Forcing LMS to bypass a VPN for BBC radio

$

This is a bit of a long shot...

I now have to use a VPN on my Windows PC that runs LMS and this has broken my BBC radio streams. I'm assuming this is because I'm connecting to a foreign VPN (I'm in the UK) – VPN off, BBC streams fine; VPN on; streams stop (non-BBC streams still work).

After much reading, it seems the simplest solution is to force LMS to use the network adapter directly, bypassing the virtual VPN adapter. I've tried using ForceBindIP for this, but to no avail – the VPN still blocks the BBC streams when active and I'm not sure whether the stream requests themselves are handled. That's about the limit of my networking knowledge and so I've ground to a halt.

So does anyone have a similar setup that they've successfully configured? Virtual machines, separate PCs and other options are non-starters – I need a single PC solution...

Raspberry Pi Installation using BerryBoot i.e. from disk image (db etc. locations)

Hello and Happy New Year,
I've searched the forum and the internet in general, to no avail, please correct me if you know of such a source.
I have a player (Home Built Box with PSU, Pi, HiFi Berry Amp, Speakers and USB Music Library)
It normally lives as a player on my home network (wifi/wired, along with 3 other similar devices).
Occasionally I take this box out / on holiday
Given this, I have a separate card with a configuration to include running LMS and using the WiFi dongle as a WAP
(once the WAP is running, it objects to reversion, for some reason)
However it is not the easiest sytem to change cards on, so I've been looking at BerryBoot
This allows you to build a disk image, use mksquashfs to compress it and store it (and a few more) to load at boot time
You can then mount the \boot partition from your default (or current) operating system and change the default (once or permanently) using SSH
All sounding pretty neat so far.
The only issues I can can think of as 'brown and smelly' are the database and cache files (plus any others) that need to be written to when the library gets re-scanned or just in normal operation.
Does anyone know where these files exist ? How they could be moved to another (writtable) partition or if I should just invest in a microSD card extender cable and swap cards that way ? or persue disabling the WAP more cleanly ?
Thanks in advance

LMS won't send audio to Max2Play running on Raspberry Pi [Details inside]

Background Info

My LMS runs on a HP Proliant N54L that runs Open Media Vault.

I installed LMS last week and have had it running for the last week and had no issues.

This morning when I turn on my server and try to send some audio to my Raspberry Pi Running Max2Play I get a couple of issues.

Issue 1

I can see to available clients to send the audio to

Name: 2 clients.png
Views: 4
Size: 13.0 KB

If I select the top client all my music disappears from LMS. I then have to go through the install Wizard but I can only see the file structure of my Raspberry Pi and can no longer access the files on my Media server

If I select 'Yes' the screen disappears but I have not connected to the Max2Play client.

Size: 20.6 KB

Questions
  • Can anyone help me fix these issues?
  • How do I remove the duplicate / incorrect client from displaying in LMS?
  • How can I get my music streaming properly again?

I have no problem playing your files... what's the folder names for
those files?

And could you still upload the server.log file?

Prevent shutdown of server while clients connected

$

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and was hoping to get some advice regarding shell script code to check if LMS is 'serving' content and to prevent shutdown if that's the case.

I have a mediapc running mythtv and xbmc etc on an unbuntu machine. It's a bit of a hog, so I have it set to standby when not in use by recordings or streaming to front end for living room tv etc. I have no logitech hardware, but am using various software players on wireless hardware throughout my house. I'm currently having to ssh into the server as I have a condition in mythfrontend script that waits for ssh sessions to finish before allowing standby. THen when done streaming audio, I have to remember to stop that so that the machine can go to sleep.

I'd really like to avoid all that (especially as without the ssh session from the computer, there's no way of keeping the server on if I want to stream remotely to my phone etc - it will time out after a few minutes.)

Does anyone know of commands or code that would appear in running proccesses that I can use for a script to watch for? I've looked myself and the various processes that show up are related to preference file and plugins - nothing that seems to change or suggest a difference when a player is connected and streaming audio.

Thanks in advance for any help!

LMS as UPnP client from another UPnP server shows only a little part of the content

My LMS

(Version: 7.9.0 - 1483603909, Betriebssystem: Debian - DE - utf8, Plattformarchitektur: armv7l-linux, Perl-Version: 5.20.2 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int, Audio::Scan: 0.95, Datenbankversion: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1))

works as an UPnP client from another UPnP server (not LMS), but it shows only a little part of the available content. Depending on the choosed category, e.g. composers, genre, artists, …, it shows between 200 an 270 entries in the LMS WEB GUI. I can play all of them. But I cannot reach the discs from the end of the alphabet :(. And I have placed several thousend CD’s on the external UPnP server (NAS with raid).

I have changed the settings of the WEB GUI, the "Items per site" to 500. This doesn't help.

Thereafter I have set the parameter "itemsPerPage" to 5000 in the file /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/server.prefs. No success.

What can I do?

LMS 7.9 times out on Spotify Playlist

$

Hi All, troubles here with my Squeezebox server
I'm using 7.9 nightly on an RPi2 in the Max2Play 2.39 package. The Triode plugin is installed to have the Spotify feature.
Most things work fine except the Spotify Playlists (premium account). The playlists take a long time to enter or leads to a time out.

Odd thing? The Playlist comes up with an Inbox; Starred Tracks; Other's Playlist. Those are not present at any of the other equipment I use Spotify on. And I cannot get those away.

LMS just lost apps...

My LMS nightly build (Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1481874538 @ Sat Dec 17 04:07:16 UTC 2016) just started to miss out of some apps.
Like Spotify and Radiotime.

Looking into the log file is seems it can't resolve web addresses, which works fine from other computers on the network.

I run my LMS on a QNAP 459U+, it has run stable for some time (1 month) without any upgrades or changes...

Here is a section from my log file, any clue??

LYRICS vs UNSYCHED LYRICS

Many of my songs have the lyrics contained in a tag called UNSYNCED LYRICS. LMS reads lyrics in the LYRICS tag without issue. Is there a way to get it to also read and display the lyrics in the UNSYNCED TAG?

I have two broken Pi's. One I updated last night (jessie) sudo apt-get update and dist-upgrade. Logitechmediaserver is now broken and won't start.

Just for fun I installed a clean new latest jessie-lite on another SD card and installed squeezelite and Logitechmediaserver and here is /var/log/squeezeboxserver

Hi,

Hope one of you experienced guys will help a total beginner.
I have installed a piCorePlayer on a Raspberry pi 3 with a hifiberry digi + pro.
Have both Squeezelite and LMS running.

Installed the hifiberry card without problems.
Resized filesystem
Updated Squeezelite
Installed LMS
Installed additional filesystems
Installed USB disk and enabled and mounted it
Did not do anything in the 'Setup Network Disk Mount'

Am I missing anything?

In the iPad Squeezebox player 'Album artists', 'Albums' etc. says 'Empty'.
I am a total beginner in this, hope someone will take the time to help. Thanks!
