New iMac but No Music Anymore - OK now

Just received my brand new iMac and no more Squeezeboxes (6 of them) functioning. Could not start Server in Sys Prefs. Most of the info there grayed out. Could not open LMS online to scan anything. Upset as hell!

Then I tried the 'turn everything off and turn everything on in sequence' technique but no luck. Could not find anything on the forum that resembled my problem. Slowly but surely going insane.

Then I had the 'brilliant' idea that maybe I did not even have the LMS server on the new iMac. Seemed logical as when someone transfers data from the old iMac to a new one, some stuff (software, passwords etc) does not install. So I downloaded and installed the latest 7.9.1 and presto! I have my music back! It seems that my existing 7.9.1 LMS on the old iMac did not carry over to the new iMac doing a Time Machine transfer.

How to search for songs

Hello,
I'm having some trouble searching for songs in my collection. When I'm searching e. g. for the song "It's too late" I get 501 results, but none of them have "It's too late" in the title, although I know I have several titles of that name in my collection.

Another example: I try to search for that genesis song but don't remeber the excact name. "Land of ..." conclusion or something like that. So I search only for the first two words: "Land of". Again, I get about 500 songs as a result, but none of the songs is the genesis song. But when I google the title and find out that it's "Land of Confusion", I can find the song by just typing the word "confusion" into LMS.

That seems very confusing to me. Maybe someone can explain how to get proper results from the song search.

SB Touch connection issues with LMS 7.9

Hi,

Sometimes my SB Touch has connection issues: it shows a "connecting to <NAS name>" animation on top of the "now playing" page in an endless of loop (a few seconds of connection animation, a second of now playing, a few seconds of connection animation...), I can post a video if needed.
The SB Touch is actually connected but music has buffering issues and NAS is slowed down. On the NAS side, Apache-ssl process is using most of the CPU time.
Nas is a Netgear NV+v2 (officially supported).
LMS is 7.9 stable but this issue appeared with 7.9 even before it was released as stable, sorry I can't be more precise.

Issue is temporary fixed by power cycling the Squeezebox Touch.
It's just me or this issue is affecting someone else?

Web UI My Apps -> Podcasts is missing.

Where did the link to my podcasts go? Seems to have vanished with upgrade to 7.9. Now All I see under My Apps is the Gallery link.

I know they are there, with other UI's (android based orange squeeze, etc) I can find and play them.

What's the trick to get podcasts back on the web UI? Not a huge deal, slightly annoying to need to call them up on the phone UI to listen.

interface issue

don't see lsm on web interface (explorer chrome and firefox), i see it only on opera and ipad, why? any suffestion? i tired to stop router forwarding and set default but no9 luck

Logitech Media Server unresponsive, debug help please

In the last two weeks I've had a lot of trouble with Logitech Media Server becoming unresponsive: the web UI does not load and music fails to play. I need some debug help please.

The first issue I notice was spotifyd.exe failing to run (I had added this recently as my previous DLL-base mechanism of playing Spotify failed a few months back):

Faulting application name: spotifyd.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5443d5f7
Faulting module name: libspotify.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4fd8be1b
Exception code: 0xc0000005

So I made sure that all the spotify plugins were disabled (Triode, "official" and protocol) and updated Squeezeserver to a recent community version (7.9.0 - 1488878280). However, I still have the same symptoms: the web UI doesn't load, music cannot be played from the player end. I've not (to my knowledge) made any changes to the machine running the server, though it is Win10 and is receiving the Win10 updates.

Looking at the Squeezserver log files (one is attached), the server does seem to be running; there are two potential errors:

1. Unable to log into mysqueezebox.com: I've had this forever, I know the username and password are correct because I can log into mysqueezebox.com manually using them.
2. Too many open files: I remember seeing this in the dim and distant past but I cannot recall now what the problem/fix was and whether it is actually relevant.

Can anyone help me determine what's up? We've got so reliant on the thing working. :-)

Feature Request: Add BPM to Advanced Search

Would it be possible to get BPM (Beats Per Minute) added to "Advanced Search"? BPM is saved in the data base if it meets the integer test in the library scan. This would really be nice if it had at least Equal and Range logic. Would be great for things like treadmill workouts.

LMS won't start anymore

Hi all,

suddenly my LMS 7.6 doesn't start anymore, Message: "Panic: Can't find temp dir for perlapp".

Same is with installation of 7.9, C:\Temp is existing.

I've made no changes to my PC, squeezetray.exe is set as an exemption with my Bitdefender. Any idea?

HP has released their new Microserver Gen10, which is offered with ClearOS.

My understanding is that it is a Linux based OS.

Is it appropriate to download LMS for Linux RPM, or for Debian/Ubuntu Linux, on this new Microserver?

LMS Windows 10 - Your player was not found

Hi all

I've installed several versions now (7.3,7.5,7.9) on Windows 10 Pro. I had this working a year or so ago although I can't remember if that was Windows 7 or 10 now.

I've got the iPad client which can't filnd the player although it clearly sees something as it mentions a library name which is correct. From the pic where it's installed I'm also not able to run soft squeeze due to the same can't find player message. I have the Windows firewall disabled and no other anti-virus installed. Am I missing something? Latest Java is installed, given the firewall is off don't need to check any permissions on that so no clue what's causing this. LMS is started as admin, tried on both of my wifi networks as well.

logitech media server error loading playlist

Just reinitialized my Qnap 251A and reinstalled LMS 7.7.2. All working fine except for Playlists.

My Playlist folder has 6 items in it. But the LMS is showing 15 PAGES?

Album Art suddenly not showing in Now Playing

LMS 7.7.2, one Touch, two Radios. New problem after 6 years. Album art not showing when in Now Playing, on any or all of the players. Basically a blank screen, with just the date in small print (Radio), the Touch actually displays Stopped. The art does show in the album listing under My Music. Art files are cover.jpg in the album folders, and have always displayed before. Tried clearing and rescanning everything; checked all the settings on the players and in the Server software. No luck. Any ideas?

I committed a new version of that file. Paul asked about this variable.
And I claimed to have had this file in action for weeks. And then I
vaguely remember some un-committed changes I reset before pushing...

I'll try to fix this asap.

Strange issue i'm having the past few weeks.

Logitech Media Server interface keeps changing from Classic to Default.

Anyone else having issue? Any clues or suggestions anyone?
