Does LMS 7.9.1 dislike SB Radio?

Did you copy the server.prefs file? If so, make sure you delete the server UUID in one copy. That's how newer players identify their server. If there are two using the same, players would switch back and forth.

LMS 7.9.1 on PcP, do i still need LAME?

No option to install but also wondering if LAME is still necessary. Suppose a device only plays MP3's then the stream would have to be converted to MP3 and it uses LAME or am I wrong?

Spotify playlist slow to appear or timesout on Squeezebox

Hope you can help.

I have Spotify playing through my Boom and Touch via Max2Play / triode plug in.

Spotify works fine but playlist take ages to appear, sometimes they timeout on Squeezebox App on my wife's phone.

This has been going on for while but it's now doing my head in:).

Any suggestions?

Has LMS new bug with german "Umlaute" at top folder from library?

Hello,

since some LMS Versions 7.9.1 (i don't recognize exactly at which version the bug is born:-) the LMS don't show correct the german "Umlaute" on the top folder (music folder) of the library. Inside an album the "Umlaute" are shown correctly.
This was never a problem since (about 5 years) i'm a LMS user.

The problem is definitly on LMS because the wrong displayed "Umlaute" are shown at Squeeze -> Touch, Radio, pCP, SqueezePlay and Android Apps.
I complete rebuild the database twice or more, but didn't help.

I'm on a PC, using Chrome.

Attached my layout of the web interface.

Can I change the layout of the top part? I play a lot of concert recordings and list musicians and composers.
Can I make the top part bigger (sometimes there's not room enough for all the info)?
Can I present the composer as (composer)?


Where can I change the layout of this part?
Would be great if I could.

DNS network issue

My lms can no longer resolve ip addresses it seems. I've checked my DNS settings in the Network Control panel and everything looks fine, and I've done a few nslookups from the console and that works fine also.

I'm using a qnap ts 251 and lms 7.7.5. I've recently installed a few things on my nas including qget, qpython, cacert etc., and also the firmware updates itself every two minutes also. So I'm not sure what has caused the issue.

The errors look like below - I can't access any radios, any ideas appreciated, this dns issue seems to be specific to lms.

Streaming radio - buffer display info what does it mean?

I'm diagnosing some streaming radio re-buffering issues (I believe the problem is with my Internet provider as it's occurring on wired and wireless Booms, Classics).

To help, I've turned on the "Buffer" display on the now-playing Music Information Screen on my Booms.

I just wanted to confirm what the numbers that are displayed mean:

I see a display similar to: 283KB / 9.5 (or more typically 1KB / 2.0 when it's getting bad)

I assume the first number is the connection speed? Is it from the server to the streaming service, or player to the service?
The 2nd number I thought was the buffer full %, but the highest it goes is 10.0 (even when I max out the Radio Station buffer to 30 seconds)

Finally, any additional tips to improve radio streaming performance in general. My issues appear to be with international stations (eg. Deezer, Pandora) as local stations are not too bad (leading me to think the issue is more my ISP than LMS/Boom related)

Latest QNAP update removed LMS!

Hi ,

I have a QNAP TS-219P II, with the latest software update they have removed support for LMS, so I now have two useless Touch's, is there anyway to get around this?

Fedora 26 Upgrade issue

I had a working LMS setup under Fedora 25.

I am not running the latest release, but rather from a very recent git clone. Been meaning to upgrade you know how it is.

I upgraded from Fedora 25 to 26 and LMS won't start.

Can't find Expat.pm? Well,

I have no idea why LMS can't find it.

The library for Image::Scale.so is right where it ought to be.

Home Screen setting

Hi Folks

I'm starting to acquire quite a selection of Logitech Radios and I'm forever 'mucking about' modifying what's shown on the 'home screen' ;).

Is there a setting somewhere within LMS that I could use to 'copy across' to the other radios in the family so I don't have to adjust each radio's home screen individually?

What OS do you recommend for the LMS

Hi,

at the moment I have an installation of LMS 7.9.1 on a QNAP 412, but the response time is horrible and I want to switch it to my VMware infrastructure.
Is there "the" OS for LMS? Maybe the resource friendly one or the one with the easiest upgrade path and configuration?

Any suggestions?

Or just tell me why you use the OS you have now...

mono audio setting possible in LMS

In this time perhaps a strange question but let me explain, I've got a few scenarios where mono would be the best choice.
All around the garden, lounge area we have a few pi's that run PcP to produce music. Don't care about stereo, just back ground music which multiple speakers.
I've got one pi running with the audio system in the Jacuzzi which has no stereo, just a bunch of transducer which move the fiber shell.
For both just mono would be the best. I noticed the audio settings in LMS for Stereo/Left/Right (Cool!) could there also be added mono?

Podcast list loads very slowly

I'm running LMS 7.9.1 on a RPi2 running raspbian (max2play). I've entered podcasts directly into LMS and am not using mysb.com. It takes very long time to navigate the podcasts. It can take a minute to get the list of individual podcasts and then another minute to actually play the file.

Is this common? is the RPi2 too slow? I find that LMS runs just fine on the RPi2 apart from the podcasts (and spotty is a bit slow as well)

LMS problem with applications from MySqueezebox

Hi!

I'm gonna try to explain the strange behavior I'm facing since few days with LMS.

The problem:
A long time ago, I've installed Deezer's application from my MySqueezebox account. I used to play music from Deezer without any problems.
Since a few days, when I explore Deezer application from either my Squeezebox Radio or the LMS web interface, I have errors messages, like :
- 503 service temporarily unavailable
- An error occurred while loading the remote control feed for Deezer: (An unexpected error occurred while validating your mysqueezebox.com account. Verify that network connectivity is working properly.)

When I try several times to access this resource, it finally works after 3, 4 or more retries. Moreover, I've absolutely no problems to access MySqueezebox account from my browser. This problem does not seem to be related with Deezer but with MySqueezebox access from LMS.

What I've done so far:
1) As LMS is installed on my NAS Synology (213j), I've :
- reinstalled from scratch my NAS (by following the double reset procedure)
- installed the "official" version of LMS
- Tryed the beta version
- And now I'm running the latest LMSrepack available
Those 3 versions have the same behavior regarding my problem.

2) So I've also factory reset my SB radio. Nothing has changed!

3) I've changed my MySqeezebox password, deleted Deezer application from my account, reinstalled it ... but it always ends with the same problem.

I've no more idea of what I can do to resolve this issue. Can you please advise with some solutions?

I want to isolate an LMS server on a VLAN, the machine I use has eth0 hooked to the LAN via DHCP and it routes/filters a second interface which is an L3 bridge that includes the VLAN.

it works, but LMS sends 3483/udp through eth0, leaking outside the VLAN. I had to direct broadcasts through the bridge to fix that (ip route add 255.255.255.255/32 dev audiobr)

What is playeraddr supposed to do?

Did you try "High", too?

That would be on the OS level (Raspbian). It might help to iron out that
peak memory usage. But in general you shouldn't run a configuration
which needs swap space all the time, as it can wear out the SD card (and
would be slow, too).

I'm using "Maximum" with piCorePlayer. But then there's nothing else
running on that device. I don't even use the audio part. The description
for that setting says "if you have more than 1GB of RAM" :-). Using it
with less memory obviously comes with some risks.

how could we preserve plug-in's when support of dev stops

Triggert by the messages of erland and peter watkins plugins made me wonder if there would be a way to preserve the latest version of each plugin (3rd party AND logitech/Slimserver) and how to install them. Or would this something to integrate in the LMS installer?
Perhaps just something to think about for the future also just in case logitech completely stops with squeezebox facilitating.

High CPU usage during playback at the beginning of each song

Hi!
I've started another thread about this problem, but I gave up because I thought that maybe it was just my "unreal" fixation
in the meanwhile, i tried other players on mobile, using LMS as media server (i've installed BUBBLEUPNP SERVER on PC and tried BUBBLEUPNP and HI-FI CAST on mobile as controller, sending music to chromecast, with hifi cast to chromecast there's also gapless music; they are good software, but they need to be ON, on the mobile, to have the music played...)
so, with any of these two player, my PC's CPU had no problems at all, there was no cpu level growth
But when i tried with Orange squeeze or Squeeze ctrl, or even from LMS web page, as usual, direct to pc soundcard (not to Chromecast with Chromecast Bridge plugin), i have that strange beahviour, my CPU, at the beginning of each song, grows to 20% usage for 10-15 seconds and then go down til the next one...
is there something i could try to do, to understand why? some log to look in? should i try to re-install everything (i mean LMS) from zero? does it happen to someone else or just me?

How to disable LMS from Twonky?

yesterday I installed LMS on a new Macbook pro to use as a 'server' with a Squeezebox Touch.

at the same time the laptop/ server is appearing as a 'Library' in the app for my Cambridge CXN Media player. I do not want the Cambridge CXN app to be connected to the laptop LMS.

I am looking at settings to disable this- not sure if the settings should be changed in the macbook softwatre or system prefs, in LMS web interface or in Twonky settings. So far I have not found the way.

Any light anyone could shine on this?

LMS runnign on mysqueezebox.com on my touch

Hi

I have noticed that I cannot connect LMS on my PC to my SB touch running through mysqueezebox.com (SB touch carte SD on the image below)
it keeps on trying to upload the new player but can't see it, you can see the connextion is still running (and foreever)

and if after that, I try to go to SB touch not on mysqueezebox.com, it is telling me that I am on SB touch (SD card) but I am not ...and it can switch to that SB this time

and now I can see that SB but I cannot see anymore SB on the card..which I guess is normal cause my box is now on the LMS running on my computer(cause I have disabled the one on the pcP)

SO why is my SBtouch SD card (so from mysqueezebox.com) cannot be seen anymore on LMS; it is working fine on squeezer I can see it and make it work
