You don't need 7.9.1 for Spotty. But WHS1 will not do. It's too old, I'm
sorry to say.

Are you sure your music files were correctly installed on the new
computer? The log shows:

- refusals to handle files because DRM: are the access
permissions and file ownership correct on these files?

- play lists pointing to missing music files.

Try fixing those problems before rescanning.

Hello

Are there any issues with the Logitech v1.0 default Deezer plugin ?

If so are there alternatives available (assuming development on the Logitech version has ceased) ?

Help in moving Playlists from Foobar to Squeezebox

$

My issue is, I would like to copy my Foobar Playlists to my LMS. It get a little complicated. My LMS is on a Raspberry Pi using PiCorePlayer. The playlists are in Foobar on a Windows machine. However, the Foobar software pulls it's music files over the network from the LMS.

Originally these lists were built in my LMS when it was on a Windows machine. I then copied them to Foobar with out any issue. I'm guessing because at that time the LMS and Foobar were on the same machine and used the same exact files. Sadly that machine died and the backup isn't any good because the new LMS is not on a Windows machine.

Editing the Playlist from the Foobar .m3u file to the format that Squeezebox is using would take forever for this many lists/songs. I'm hoping I'm missing something or am unaware of some software that might help.

Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts.

It's good - if you need it. "error" is misleading. I should probably
change that.

Only new playlists work, after a rescan they appear empty

  1. I have some old playlists. They now appear empty for some reason.
  2. I created a new playlist and this one worked.
  3. I did a rescan.
  4. Now this new playlist appears to be empty, too.

What could be the reason? I had some permission trouble, but if LMS is able to create a new playlist, it should be able to read the old one, too, shouldn't it?

Accessing 3rd Party Plugin functionality e.g. BBC iPlayer via UPnP

I have enabled UPnP on LMS and can see it in Foobar and access my music library, however I would really like to access the BBC iPlayer via Foobar exposed via UPnP, is this possible?

Additional Browse Modes and specifying genres

I tend to like listening to a genre of music, using random play often requires a lot of clicking/touching genres and an accurately tagged music librabry.

I've been trying out "Additional Browse Modes" and it's pretty close to what I want. I've created a few browse modes primarily to try things out, since I make only rare changes to LMS and I started trying out this last year(?) or longer ago. A few basic questions. (FYI I only have one(All) library view).

1. Where should the additional browse modes show up? Does this show an Additional Browse Mode called "chillout"?
2. Why are the other browse modes not shown?
3. If thats not a browse mode, where did that come from?

3. How should the genres be specified, commas and spaces as shown, or the default tag delimiter and no space? eg "Chill, Chillout" vs "Chill;Chillout"

cannot rescan music folders

Hi. I'm running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1515216179 on Linux Mint 17.

I have LMS set to rescan music folders twice a day.

However, the last morning scan was still running hours after it should have completed. So I hit "abort scan" and tried to re-run the scan from the LMS user interface and by logging into the Linux Mint machine via ssh and running the scanner via the command line. Both efforts failed with the following messages:

Code:

This is the complete log file.

After rebooting I run another scan and the scanner runs a seemingly endless loop attempting to handle a deleted file which was never deleted from the hard drive.

This is just the top of the scanner log - it goes on like this for more than 100 attempts to "delete" the same file which is still on the hard drive. Eventually I have to stop LMS manually.

This has happened numerous times - an endless loop of trying to delete a file from LMS which has not been deleted from my music library. And, LMS has successfully scanned this mp3 file for about three years. I suppose something could have happened to it - but I just listened to it, for whatever that might be worth.

Thanks for your time.

Possibility to assign certain music folders to dedicated player?

That's the exact use case for the Library Views plugin in 7.9. Create
views on your overall collection. I do have a "Kids" menu with only
music tagged for kids. Please see the various threads on the topic.

Tunein Radio - problem with KBC Radio 1602

I have the problem that I cannot listen to the radio station KBC Radio 1602 on my Squeezeboxes any more.
An error message shows up when selecting the station: "found no items in playlist" (message on my Squeezebox Radio and Touch), and "no useable stream" on my Android app. Squeeze Control.
The station could be listened to until TODAY! However, no problems at all when I start the Tunein Radio app. directly (Android, or Windows, etc.).
I am curious why my Logitech devices (including my max2play Squeezelight players) have this problem.
All other stations in my favourites can be listened to without any problems. In addition, it does not make any difference when I use mysqueezebox.com or the LMS server on one of my max2play devices).
I hope that this can be resolved soon!

Installation of LAME under MacOS 10.13.2 (High Sierra) for use with Squeezebox

Hello,
for long years I used LMS in connection with a macmini. In that times I installes LAME without problems; from binaries as well as from source.
Last days I wanted to install under MacOS High Sierra, and I went into troubles. Nothing worked – neither binaries, nore from sourcefiles.
Facts: I use a LMS 7.9.1 r1515516449 and a MacOS 10.13.2 on a macmini (end 2012). I tried to install the sourcefile-version from the lame-homepage on sourceforge.net.
When I started the make-process in the terminal, I got the message
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64:
"_lame_init_old", referenced from:
-exported_symbol[s_list] command line option
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
at the end of the process. It looks like ther is a incompatibility with the x86_64-Processor.

Can somebody help me? The message in the LMS-preferences still show me that there is no installed LMS.

Thanks in advance

first time LMS ARM install on Ubuntu 17.10 - HELP!!

$

Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to help.

I recently purchased a Rock64, and I'm now spending my free time trying to set up every server I have always wanted on it. Before this, i was new to Linux. Despite that, I set up my system to run Ubuntu 17.10 minimal, and have to use it in 32bit mode (ARM-HF) because there is really nothing available for ARM64 currently. ANYWAY - i'm having a heck of time trying to get LMS to even start up. I have installed the latest ARM nightly and I installed PERL from repositories. I have not received any error messages in the command line, but the web interface is not starting up. The log file just says over and over again "Logitech Media Server died. Restarting."

Now, I have identified that the PERL version installed was "perl v5.26.0 built for arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int". From reading these message boards, I figured this version may not be compatible with LMS, so I installed perlbrew and an instance of 5.22.4 and ran "perlbrew switch" but that didnt seem to do anything. So I'm currently stumped and I'm hoping people here can help.

1) Is the ARM version of LMS compatible with perl 5.26? If not, is that planned for anytime soon?
2) I realize I'm probably missing essential perl modules, both in my system and perlbrew versions. Can anyone give me a list of the ones I need?
3) any other pointers - things I'm not thinking of?

Also, keep in mind that I'm still pretty much a newb. I have a MS in engineering, but i'm not a coder by any means. Please keep the lingo so i can understand it.

Many thanks.

Musepack files are cut wile playing

Hi everyone,

I know Musepack is not very popular nowadays, yet an important part of my library is still in this format.

I've been using a Slimserver for yars know, and I've always had this strange behaviour: on some mpc files, the playing goes fine, but mostly, the playing is cut (often after some seconds). It can happen to half a dozen songs in a row. Kinda frustrating. :)

Is there anything that can be done about this ? I raised the issue maybe 8 or 10 years ago, to no avail (and the thread seems to have disappeared). I remember fiddling in some config file would arrange things a bit, but not totally, and it would be overwritten upon each upgrade.

  • Add button to delete playlist items.
  • Fix cannot drag/drop before first or after last item in playlist.

AAC playback, squeeze server on RPi

Hello folks. I have a setup that uses squeeze server 7.9 on raspbian. Endpoints are various, but many are other RPIs.

I don't seem to be able to play AAC streams, and am wondering if the server, the endpoints or both would be to blame.

Don't really know where to start and would be glad of some assistance :)

Cheers,

Hi,

I can't seem to find the answer to this question in my search.

Is it possible to have LMS turn a player off (put into standby mode) when music playback has been paused for a certain amount of time?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have,

Play on Album does not start playing from song 1

Hi

Recently I have seen very odd behavior from LMS.

Whenever I choose "Play" on an album (no matter if it is from WebUI, from iPeng or directly on Player) it is as if it starts from the track that was last played, and NOT from beginning of the album as I would expect.

It creates a playlist/queue with the tracks in the correct album order, but does not start from the beginning.

I find this very very annoying.

Anyone?

PS: I am running this LMS: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1515659378 @ Thu Jan 11 09:26:58 UTC 2018 on Debian.
