All,
Am starting to play around with Mycroft.ai and would like to make it a project to build an LMS skill. Currently running Max2Play on one RPI3 and Picroft on another. Picroft is Python oriented, but i would prefer to use the API supported in the main distro. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I recently updated LMS to Logitech Media Server Versie: 7.9.1 - 1516947667 @ Fri Jan 26 07:06:13 CUT 2018.
And now I noticed that the Fade In function when the alarm is set is not working this morning.
Any ideas?

I am a new member and so please forgive any obvious newbie mistakes or school boy errors! I have just aquired a SOtM sms 100 mini server and am trying to stream Tidal to my hifi using LMS/Squeezelite via a Chord 2Qute dac controlled by iPeng on my iPhone SE. So far I have managed to stream the contents of my iTunes library some high res files and some iRadio everything is fine music coming from my speakers sounds much better than my previous Chromecast Audio.
I'm using a 2014 MacBook Pro and have managed to get LMS to recognise the SOtM in LMS server settings but not as a Player on the Squeezebox site nor on the remote tab on the same site. Also I have managed to install and sign into both Tidal and Intune which I already subscribe too and they appear in the my apps tab but will not open I click on the icon and nothing happens, nothing at all. Weirdly enough the both show as being installed when I open iPeng on my iPhone but do not even appear under the my apps tab.
I do realise that the SotM sms 100 is an older unsupported unit but I'm not asking it to do anything it was not designed to do I went for this rather than the newer unit as I'm not interested in Roon and own only a handful of High Res files which can easily be loaded on to a usb stick and streamed from there.
So frustrating is starting to set in as I have no idea where I am going wrong and would be very grateful of any tips.

I like my "New Music" list. It helps me avoid over looking/forgetting about recent buys before I've gotten to know them.
But I've been tweaking tags recently and find that albums I ripped years ago are treated as "New" even when all I did was correct the compilation tag. This quickly drowns out the actual new stuff.
Is there any way to remove such old albums from the "New Music" list? Or stop the server identifying them as new in the first place?

Hi,
after a clean install moving from v7.8 to 7.9.1 - 1517314665 (downloaded from the nightly builds folder) fails as the new version keeps getting stuck in the pre-cache artwork step while the former runs flawlessly. This happens randomly, meaning that if a I clear the library and cache and start a new scan it will get stuck in a different file. Below is the scanner log with all the relevant flags set to Debug. Server is running on a Mac Mini, new model, running OS X High Sierra. Any hint and/or help on how to troubleshoot this will be greatly appreciated.

Here's the part that I don't get. It used to work perfectly, and did so for years. I'm running OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan) and Logitech Server 7.9.1 Build rt517314665 1/28/2018. Problem does not occur when listening to Internet radio stations. That works as always.
HELP! Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the scan didn't finish successfully. Check your log files
and the scanner status (Settings/Information)

I have a Vortex Box. Ripped CD's are viewable on the LMS, but songs don't play. I get a message that LMS does not find my player despite the fact that it sees all the albums that I have ripped. What do I need to do to fix this?

I got myself a new 4K monitor. The artwork on the LMS webpage doesn't scale on highdpi screens. It all looks and works normal, it could be sharper.
The artwork is scaled to the Thumbnail Size in Interface settings (max 250px). The browser upscales the thumbnails to fit in the browser.
Most likely its to much work to rewrite the webpages. I guessed I could ask anyway :)

I've been experimenting a bit with this but don't understand the results.
All Compilations identified as such appear under Compilations in the top menu. Home/Compilations But I have a couple of hundred compilations so that's a long list.
Browsing Home/Genres/Reggae brings up a list of album artists. I was hoping and expecting reggae compilations to be grouped at the top of this list. But no.
Home/Genres/Reggae/Various Artists brings up a list of all compilations with album artist value "Various Artists" but weirdly includes all genres not just reggae.
Meanwhile Home/Genres/Reggae/All Albums/Various Artists brings up the same albums as above but this time the list is restricted to those of the reggae genre.
However Reggae Compilations that have no value for Album Artist are not listed anywhere except Home/Compilations which of course includes all genres. Therefore for browsing compilations by genre it seems I must have Album Artist = Various Artists, or something other than blank.
Is this a quirk of 7.9.0 or have I done something wrong?

I've recently set up a raspberry pi, running LMS, and using a Transporter to play my music. I had an issue where the Transporter was clicking on/off when it was turned off. So, in researching various threads, I followed instructions to xilinx my Transporter, and to update the LMS software. All that seemed to go fine. However, now my Transporter produces no sound! LMS and the Transporter are connected; they both say they're playing music when I attempt to play something. However, the Transporter visualizer shows no sound coming out, and indeed there isn't. If I switch the player to my Squeezepad, it plays fine (i.e., with actual sound!), but not the Transporter. I tried synchronizing the Transporter and Squeezepad but that didn't help either.
I've looked at various settings, but really can't see any settings that would/do affect this. I played with the volume adjustment settings, but that doesn't affect it (and besides, with the visualizer showing a flat line, something's up).
Please! Any help or suggestions would we greatly appreciated!

Here you can always find the latest version of LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64/i686/x84 and mixed X86-64 systems with QTS4.2 or higher.
At the moment only support for x86_64/i686/x86. Before installing do login with ssh shell and do uname -m, it should then say x86_64/x86/i686.
It will install the LogitechMediaServer source on the Qnap, as can de found on the Nightly build website.
It will support Spotty, YouTube and Radio paradise out off the box.
( Perl 5.24.0 64bit/32bit, Mozilla-CA-20160104, Net-SSLeay-1.82 ( build with openssl-1.0.2m ), IO-Socket-SSL-2.052 and JSON-2.90 )
Questions or trouble regarding LogitechMediaServer, go to the SlimDevices forum.
The only thing i supply is a proper way to install LogitechMediaServer and a init-script so it will startup correctly.
It`s a standalone version, which does not need extra software like a Optware/Entware. ( But by installing you can add extra functions ( Lame support ), or better audio support )

There was an update to v7.9.1, 1517314665 pushed to my system on Feb. 09. Since then, I can not mange to access LMS any more from computers connected to the network (through SERVER_NAME:9000 or through my Duet. LMS seems to be running correctly on the server (Windows Server 2016 Essentials), but connectivity seems not to work any more. Tried to stop and restart the server with no effect. Can someone point me to any trick to put my system back on?

Can someone clarify some artwork related questions.
1. FLACs - Artist/Album folder structure. If the folder contains a JPG called folder.jpg AND tracks contain an embedded JPG which file does LMS display in Albums etc ? (I know embedded JPGs is superfluous but one of my rippers insists on adding them if artwork is found)
2. If I find an error and correct folder based Artwork what is the best method / is there a way of getting LMS to update the database without a complete clear and rescan ?
3. Similarly if I correct track based Artwork what is the best method / is there a way of getting LMS to update the database without a complete clear and rescan ?

Can anyone help please. audio playback on FLAC files is buffering randomly. Players are all hard wired and I'm happy there are no network issues. this is a fairly recent instal of vortexbox 2.4 on the same machine ive been using for a while and have never had so many problems. I thought an update might fix it however when I run through the update process in vortexbox I get dnf update failed, check error messages and try to fix problems. ive also tried command line dnf updates, they seem to go through okay. happy to provide any further system information if anyone can help. thanks
I'm not even sure where to look for the error messages. is that in LMS?

Hello all,
I can't seem to get the media server to save my more recent settings.
Example: as my iTunes library has grown, I have had to increase the "Maximum Playlist Length" in "Advanced Settings-->Advanced-->Performance-->Maximum Playlist Length". The setting works in the short term but the next day after I boot up my Mac, the Maximum Playlist Length setting has reverted to its previous number.
A second example happens when I add a new radio station to my Web Remote Control. Again, it remembers the setting for the short term, but the next day, it's gone.
