I set up a new ASUS router yesterday and I am having issues with all of my Squeezeboxes both wired and wireless.
All SBs state that they cannot connect to my LMS instance (running on Synology NAS). However, iPeng can see it and the connected players that state they cannot connect. Using iPeng or the LMS login via a PC I can play music on a selected player but the player's display does not change and remains on home menu (or whatever the last menu page was physically selected on the unit). So it seems that the players are now somehow blocked from seeing LMS but using iPeng I can send music to the players. Does anyone have any idea what's going on and how to resolve this please?
I have reset the router multiple times along with turning everything off and on again and I can view the LMS server and all settings via my PC and all looks to be correct (nothing has been changed in the settings since installing new router). I am completely stumped!
TIA

Today my music has been pausing and restarting over and over again. In my log I see "doesn't exist on disk - skipping!" This happens with music stored on the same server as LMS, and with two internet radio apps (Radio Paradise and SomaFM), using SLX or a Touch as clients.
It's not my ISP, LAN, or server disc, because a non-LMS client (MusicBee) can play internet radio and can also access music files on the same server just fine.
Is there anything I can clear or reset from within LMS Settings? I've been running LMS 7.9.2 for many months, on Sonicorbiter OS which limits how much I can do on the command line.

Are there any plugins for these streaming sites ?

I think I'd start by shutting down LMS, deleting library.db, restarting.
It's not clear to me what exactly failed: the log file claims that the
artwork scan had finished, but nothing after that.

I stumbled across an old Chromecast audio in a box of tangled wires ... I set it up again (and accessed it via the chromecast plugin) Excellent. I pushed the audio out to a mini Avantree Priva iii aptx BT transmiiter. Sounds great on all the bt headphones I've tried. The Priva has an extensive range so there are no dropouts.
The Avantree transmitters are really good - The Priva (39 USD) is a small round disk but only has 3.5 mm input. The Audikast (49 USD) has an additional optical input. 5-10 dollar discounts are often available.

Hi Michael;
I have the following 'problem':
When I look at i.e. a podcast list, each podcast has its own unique icon / image.
But when I select one podcast from the list and go to the now playing screen (i.e. material skin, but also std skin), it briefly shows the unique image, but flips back to the std. Podcast image after 1 second or so.
You can try to see what I mean by including i.e. this Podcast into your podcast list and looking at the list (with the unique icons) and then select and play one (and then only see the std icon of that podcast):
https://podcast.wdr.de/radio/hoerspiel.xml
Maybe related:
When I select i.e. Deutschlandfunk Kultur 101.3 (Kultur) from the Radio List, I also get only the std. icon of that station, whereas I am pretty sure that in earlier builds of LMS, the icon updated to the currently playing song releated image (I still get the song info, just not the corresponding image)
As stated, I am pretty sure that this behavior changed during evolvement of LMS. (Sorry that I can not pinpoint the build when that happened)
-> Is there a way to get the 'unique images' back?

I have two Raspberries with Raspbian on them and copied the
Code:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/server.prefs
from one machine to the other.
I have uncomplicated firewall activated. It is on both like this:
Code:
$ sudo ufw status

A few days ago I changed my hostname. Yesterday I rebooted both machines. They also run bitcoin, minidlna and cifs and it all works. Both hostnames look like this (RPi2 for the other machine).
Code:
$ cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
127.0.1.1 RPi3
~ - 08:22:33 - pi - RPi3@192.168.100.169 Tue Sep 10
$ cat /etc/hostname
RPi3
My squeezeboxes can access the old server but
they can not access the new server unless I deactivate the firewall. I don't understand this behaviour. First, I thought it might be related to the firewall setting up its rules with hostnames. I was under the impression that deleting the rule and setting it up newly was helping. But today I again have the same problem. My squeezebox does not connect.
I
can connect via the GUI, but it then of course shows no entry for the boxes.

I have a ReadyNAS Pro Business edition box that has been running LMS successfully on Netgear OS4.x for many years. Most recently I was running LMS 7.9.1 with no issues.
This week I installed OS6 successfully on the NAS (RNDP6000). After verifying the successful install, I restored all the music files that I had backed up before the factory default to do the OS 6 upgrade. No issues with restoring the files.
Then I followed the developer's direction (super-poussin) on how to install LMS on OS 6, which is to install 2 files in this order:
1) logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1475786002_all.deb
2) lms_7.9.0_all.bin
Both files installed without error or issues, and the LMS web interface opened as expected. I used the Browse button in the web interface to select the Media Folders folder on the Basic settings page. I found the Music share, selected it, and found /data/Music in the Folder text box afterwards. Then the scanner began scanning the Music share, but it doesn't find any of the music. I know the files are there because I can connect my Windows desktop to the \\readynas\Music share and see the folders and files.
So my question is how can I get LMS to see the files in the Music share?
Any help understanding and fixing the problem is appreciated! BTW, I'm also new to Linux, so it could be something dumb I'm doing or not doing. Please point that out if so.
TIA,
David

I have a windows 10 machine running lms. I use cisco anyconnect secure mobility client to connect to resources at work. My lms works fine using the address of my pc until I connect to the vpn, at which time it immediately changes to the vpn ip address, which is not reachable from my internal network. Does anyone know if it's possible to statically assign the network adapter or ip address that the lms will use? Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
A few days ago I purchased the $9.99 month Tidal subscription and couldn't get any sound from Tidal to my Transporter, even though the Transporter's view screen showed the song selection from Tidal playing. I pulled my hair out for days, emails back and forth with Tidal support, tried proxy steaming, rebooted everything, installed and uninstalled Tidal, LMS, and Squeezed and nothing worked. Then I was just messing around in the menus on the Transporter and changed the steaming quality selection from "FLAC or MP3" to "MP3" and it started playing. I can only assume that the Transporter couldn't select between the two when the incoming stream was only MP3 (the ($9.99 Tidal subscription is only MP3).
Hope this helps someone someday!

Is there a way I can configure LMS to output directly from the server via it's USB port (in addition to Ethernet)? It's been done on the rather expensive
Innuos Zen Mark3. I'd prefer to build my own audiophile grade computer and run LMS, but I'd prefer to bypass Ethernet - at least for my main audio room.

I've recently moved my LMS to a Synology NAS, and now I'm trying to figure out best way to pick up my static and smart playlists from iTunes.
I have iTunes running on a Windows connected laptop.
I can either have iTunes point to the music directly on the NAS, or I'm happy to copy/sync it to the laptop.
I've had a quick look at the LMS iTunes plugin, but I'm unsure how to configure this to point to iTunes running on a separate Windows system.
How do I map the file-locations in the Windows based playlists to map to the NAS file locations so LMS on the NAS can find them?
Thank you for any tips/guidance on this type of setup/config.
Cheers,
Dean.

Check out the CLI documentation
titles 0 9999999
This will make your machine explode if you have a large collection :-).
You better query by "pages" (0-999, 1000-1999, etc.).

I have two Pi systems using PiCorePlayer. The main system runs LMS. They used to sync without a problem and if I switched the slave system on, it would play whatever was on the main system without intervention from me.
For a while now when I switch the second system on, it now stops the main system playing. If it has a single track or radio station, it stops on that. If it has an album, it goes to the last track and stops. If I restart whatever was on the main system the slave syncs and plays.
I've tried setting sync up from both players without any change. Is there something I'm missing?
LMS version is 7.9.2. PiCorePlayer 5.0.1. Using the Material skin.

I just installed pCP 6.0 on a RPI 4. I took a hard drive that I had a copy of all my music on and am using that with it. The only files on the drive are the music folder/files. After scanning LMS shows about 25% more songs than it should. I found some issues with playlists and fixed them. Scanned again and I still have the issue. I took the Playlist folder completely out and scanned again. Same issue. Looking at the songs/albums that duplicate you can see the path is wrong on the dups. The correct path is mnt/music/Al di Meola/The Infinite Desire/Beyond The Mirage.flac. The duplicate comes up mnt/music/Music/Al di Meola/The Infinite Desire/Beyond The Mirage.flac.
I'm not sure where the path is coming from of how to fix it. It doesn't seem to be part of a tag. Any help would be appreciated.
