Home Menu Order in LMS GUI

I'm sure |I sked this recently, and got a good answer. But I'm damed if I can now find it....

I'm a dab hand with re-ordering Menus on various players. But, how do I customize the Home Menus in the LMS web GUI itself? I use the DEFAULT interface.

I've just installed LMS on a new machine - and the contents of the MY MUSIC are a mess, that I'd like to much simplify. Likewise, I'd really like the FAVORITES tab to be at the top, not 4th down.

Any hints (again) gratefully received.

How to mix white noise with the music/radio being played via LMS and SB3

Is there a way to mix a continuous background track (e.g. white noise) with the music/radio that is being played by LMS/SB3? I currently run LMS 7.9.2 on a Raspberry Pi4 that powers an SB3 which feeds an audio system via the SB3's digital output. I'd also like to be able to play background noise continuously via the SB3, and independently play music/radio that is then mixed in with the background track. Is this possible? I would prefer to do this without additional hardware between the SB3 and amplifier.

Accessing LMS over Https?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to set up LMS to be accessible over https: rather than just http:?

I'm trying to include the UI as part of a Home Assistant dashboard, but need it to be https to be accessable. I'm running the latest version on a fedora base, but can switch to anything needed if anyone has any pointers on where to start.

Is there an easy way, or do I need to up-skill myself on installing something like openSSL to make this work?

Any guidance or advise appreciated.

LMS not playing RadioNet from favourites

Hi All,

I have recently discovered the Radionet plugin for LMS and am enjoying it, however there seems to be a problem.

I have favourite'd a couple of stations however they do not play from the favourite menu, they play fine from the "Radio" menu

When I try to play this gets logged

Issue with playing on Sonos

Hi I installed Logitech media server on my Synology NAS. I have enabled the UPnP/DNLA bridge and spotty connect plugins. My purpose is to get the server to recognize my sonos speakers and then push them to Spotify Connect to be used on Spotify Connnect devices for use on my home dashboards. In Spotty, I have authorized spotify, and under the UPnP settings I fetched the profiles for Sonos and applied them. The issue that I am running into is that when using the logitech media sever dashboard and attempting to play a song or playlist from spotify on the sonos speaker, i get a message in the sonos app saying "Unable to play "xx" - the connection to 10.0.0.173:49153 was lost.
The song name appears in the sonos app but the music does not play.

Am i missing a step? I also noticed that even though UPnP recognizes my sonos speakers, it hasnt pushed them to Spotify connect as mediaplayer devices either.

dsf native to dac via usb?

L.s.,

This week I bought a Topping E30 dac. This dac supports dsd via usb only. PCM is possible via coax and optic. I'm running LMS 7.9.3 - 1591161343 through a squeezebox touch and I'm not able to get any sound out of the usb.

The same file played as DoP through coax, does give sound, albeit at 88,2khz.

Can anyone help me to get the dsd played as dsd via usb?

Move LMS cache

I run LMS on a Pi.

I came across the suggestion that, to minimize wear on the u-SD card that LMS is installed on, I should move the LMS cache to the HDD that's mounted on the Pi.

How would I do that?

No current player persistence in clients after SBS restart

They should be. They're stored in the browser's cookies (at least for
the Default skin). Check your browser settings, or whether you have an
add-on removing cookies.

Windows 2003

I'm running LMS, presently version 8.0, on a dedicated computer with Windows Server 2003 as the OS. In the 10+ years it's been running it's been extremely stable (knock on wood), but then again, the only thing installed is LMS.

This OS is starting to get old and I'm wondering if I should migrate to something newer. Is there any reason to switch to a newer OS? Is there anything coming in LMS that will need technology which isn't supported by Windows 2003?

Rescan of media library not initiating

I successfully ran a rescan of my media library a couple of days ago, but in trying to do so again today I found that neither (a) Look for new and changed media files nor (b) Clean library and rescan everything starts a scan.

When I click Rescan for either of those options the rescan appears to begin (the Home screen shows "Rescanning Media Library") but Settings> Basic Settings> Media Scan Details doesn't show any scanning progress details as usual, but instead offers only the option to Abort scan.

I downloaded the scanner log file but it is empty, which I guess simply confirms that a scan never started.

I'm running LMS Logitech Version: 7.9.1

Any advice much appreciated.

Lms crashes

Hi,
I’ve recently installed PiCorePlayer on pi2b and the player works really well when connected to my current LMS on Windows 10.

However I’d like to run lms on the pi and have enabled this and set up a share to my QNAP NAS.

When I start a scan it aborts very quickly and the pi reboots so any log which might indicate the root of the problem is lost

I’ve upgraded everything to current versions but still no success in scanning anything more than 500 of the 12000 tracks in my library.

Greatful for any ideas on how to progress the Problem.

Accessing LMS from Internet?

I've gone on vacation and brought along one of my Squeezebox radios, thinking I should be able to access my music over the Internet. I assumed I would just need to setup some port forwarding in my router, and enter the dyndns address of my home server in the Squeezebox.

However, I'm starting to feel slightly mad. There seems to be no way to enter a host name or IP address of the LMS server in the Squeezebox..?! I think I checked all possible menu entries. The Change library setting only lets me chose between the old library under the name of the host as it was known locally when I was connected on the LAN, or MySqueezebox.

I even went so far as to enable SSH, login to the Squeezebox, and search for configuration files. I found some files in /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/settings containing the old server's name and IP address. I changed this to the external IP and host name. Now it shows up as my library, but I still cannot connect. I have opened port 9000 and 3483 in my router, and forward them to the LMS server on the LAN.

It feels like I'm missing something here. How should this be done, properly?

LMS 8.0: play tracks/artists/playlists by tuning in to Deezer/TIDAL web links

Many music services provide a "share" feature where you'd get a link to a track/album/playlist. You can now use LMS' "Tune In to URL" feature in the web UI to play such links directly. Just paste links from TIDAL or Deezer (more to come...) in that field to play some nice tunes. Eg. any of the following links should play in LMS if you're using the corresponding service:

Media Scan Terminates Early

I have installed LMS 8.0 on my Raspberry Pi 3.0 with PCP 5.0. I have successfully mapped the music folder to my NAS. However, when trying to scan new music, the scan stops before completely scanning all the files on the NAS. I have searched the forum and don't see anything that seems to apply to my situation.

I ran the scan twice this morning and the log file shows what appears to be two different errors. I have no idea how to fix this. FWIW the media LMS media scan on my NAS works just fine.

Network setup path & config.

Hello dear forum

I´m completely new to networked audio and have embarked on somewhat "risky" project that is grounded in the LMS tech. Maybe I can draw on your expertise.

I’m trying to setup my Volumio Primo as renderer and using a NUC PC running Daphile as server. Not sure if that’s possible at all, but meanwhile I’m stuck in some network path issues I hope you can help me with.
Sorry to say : - utterly confused about what to fill in some of the commands, path & correct values on the two configurations. See attached images.

My plan is to use the Primo as receiving renderer (and it's analog output) and Daphile as network server, thus lowering the footprint / noise in the Volumio Primo further.

Hope someone can help.

"Artists" not visible when a Boom or SB3 is the selected player

Go to Settings/Player where you can configure not only what additional
browse modes you want to use, but also what menu items you want to see.
This is only available for the old players.

macOS Big Sur

Here's some interesting news: despite last years announcement to remove scripting languages in future macOS versions (see the "Scripting Language Runtimes" section), the Big Sur beta (macOS 10.16 or 11.0 - they seem to not have decided that yet :-)) released earlier this week still comes with Perl pre-installed. While the default Perl version is 5.28 (which we don't support yet), 5.18 is still there, and the LMS installer would run perfectly fine.

That's running the latest LMS 7.7. This will still need some tweaking to work out of the box. But there's hope!

Now let's see whether they keep Perl around when Big Sur finally is shipped...

LMS Search

Hi,
When I do a search from LMS GUI for artist Miles Davis, I get the following:
Name: img1.JPG Views: 51 Size: 19.2 KB

I actually have 8 albums by Miles Davis, should the search not return something like:

Artists:
Miles Davis
Albums:
8 (and a list)
Songs:
100 (and a list)

Clicking on Miles Davis in the Artist field does indeed show all 8 Albums. I've tried clearing/rescanning but it's the same result, is it correct?
