Dear members,
Unfortunately I updated my Synology to DSM7.
DSM7 does not run logitech media server anymore, so I installed picore with lms on a raspberry3.
I love Erlands plug-ins, but you can only install them manually.
I tried with this command:
scp -r /Downloads/CustomClockHelper tc@192.168.9.165:/usr/local/slimserver/Plugins/CustomClockHelper
the plug-ins show up after restarting LMS, but after a reboot of the raspberry they disappear. Can anybody help please?
Thank you

Hey.
Short version:
When I create an artists menu using Additional Browse Modes it will show me false positives on the second level down (albums for artists). How do I get rid of them?
Check it out:
Take a library with 3 music files by 2 artists:
artist A -> regular album A -> song1 (rated 4 stars)
artist A -> compilation album B -> song2 (unrated)
artist B -> compilation album B -> song3 (rated 5 stars)
1. Create a library view using Advanced search for all tracks rated > 2 (stars). Save as "Rated". Contents = song1 & song3.
2. Create an artists menu using Additional Browse Modes for this library view.
3. In this new artist menu click on artist A.
What you should get for artist A:
artist A -> regular album A -> song1
But what you actually get is:
artist A -> regular album A -> song1
artist A -> compilation album B -> song2
The compilation album with the unrated song2 shouldn't be there, no? (because it's unrated and not featured in the library view)
- I can play around with the compilation settings, artists list or contributor filter in settings -> my music all I want I never get the desired result.
- Tracks of compilation album B are tagged album artist = Various Artists and compilation flag = 1. However, LMS assign contributor role "Artist" to all tracks on the compilation and not TRACKARTIST. If that matters.
How do I fix this? Is this a limitation of additional browse modes? Or is there a workaround of some sort?
I'd really like get rid of these empty false positives so I can offer such menus in my plugin.
Thank you for your help.
P.S. LMS latest v7.9

Hi there,
any one already tried the new LMS 8.1 on Mojave (macOS 10.14) and if yes, is it working smooth?
Thanks for feedback

Windows 7PL
2x Xeon machine
LMS 8.0.1
cannot start Control Panel while LMS is running
starting screen is showing up, and than gone, and control panel is not starting
it did start with LMV version 7.8.x
I can start it only after stopping LMS and closing it
than I can start it in administrative mode by running "squeezeboxcp.exe"
if when in control panel, I will start LMS, after a short while control panel is suddenly disappearing.
and cannot be started again. LMS is not starter
but if I start LMS normally, (not from Control Panel) all the database and Squeezbox Touch music is running fine

Was trying to switch from Perl 5.18.4 to 5.32.0 with no luck though. Got all possible error messages.
Perl 5.18 is using a lot of CPU, any chance to switch a newer perl version? Thanks, highly appreciated.
Here my config:

I'm a long time Squeezebox user, but have never been able to figure out how to get the time in a container to match the host time. This has been a longstanding annoyance that I have ignored so far. I need to state up front. I'm not a linux guy and do everything (to date) through the QNAP Container Station interface.
I installed the Docker LMS 8.0.0-Stable Docker image a couple of days ago and was trying to figure it out to no avail. My LMS instance mostly runs fine except for this. Can someone please give me a hand in:
1) updating the time/timezone in the existing instance, and/or
2) how do I configure it correctly when I install the docker image?
I've searched and found many posts suggesting:
echo "Canada/Pacific" > /etc/timezone
dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
But I still end up with UTC when I enter this via the Terminal
I've also seen the recommendation to use -v /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro but haven't figured out how and haven't had any success with the Terminal command line.
I can usually figure this stuff out but find myself stumped (not really familiar with the details of containers or linux). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

I'm telling TIDAL to send the best quality stream available to the user.
That's a value which is returned by TIDAL, on which I can't have any
influence.
I've added some logging to see what values we're getting there. And up
to this point I've only had "high" (lossy) and "lossless", but not
"hi_res". Maybe no client with higher abilities has come across this
server instance yet.

Hello,
I upgraded from LMS 7.94 to LMS 8.0.1 - 1607593012 on MacOS X
First - Many Kudos for this upgrade - It keeps the spirit alive and works quite smoothly.
My library is mostly ALAC and AAC streamed on a wired gigabit network to 2 squeezeboxes.
BUT, now from time to time, an ALAC streams stops in the middle of the track.
There is no clear pattern.
Always the same files.
These files play beautifully on iTunes and used to stream very well on 7.94
With the advanced parameters, I switched the ALAC streaming from Native to PCM.
It seems to have solved the problem so far.
However, as it was working perfectly natively on LMS 7.94, I am wondering what went wrong in LMS 8
Do you have any clue ?
Is there a cleaner solution ?

First thing in the morning, or when my Touch has been unused for a while, the first thing I play is preceded by a short "chirp" of uncorrelated music. At least that's what I think I hear: more like a split second of music vs. some kind of random noise. Happens on both local file playback and internet radio.
I've experimented with "Power On Resume" options and various values of "Audio Startup Time" with no improvement. It's very difficult to test because it's intermittent. What I can say for sure is that this has not always happened. I tried going from LMS 8.0.1 back to LMS 7.9.4 and it made no difference. (I might try 8.1.)
Is there something in logging that I can enable to try to catch some evidence of this? Thanks.

Hello
I have pCP on a P1 3, working well but have a problem with RadioNet and Beethoven Channel. Using the web interface I can find it in RadioNet and play it and make it one of my favorites. If I select it with the web interface it plays but I cannot select it with my remote control and the internal user interface.
I don't usually use the web interface except for scanning.
Any idea why remote cannot play it but plays all other favorites.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

I'm a big fan of WNYC Studios podcasts like
On The Media but over a month ago I started receiving errors like this from the Podcast app:
This specific feed is:
https://feeds.wnyc.org/onthemedia
But I have experienced it from some of their other feeds, and sadly they aren't responding to support requests.
Any ideas?

Dear Forum,
i try to run LMS on Raspberry Pi 3 with picorePlayer, but i get an error every time i try to scan my library:
Database Optimize (1 of 2) Complete 00:05:37
Media scan terminated unexpectedly (Scanning Progress)
unfortunately LMS just starts to rescan the library randomly then, LMS gets unresponsive and i can't listen to my music.
I tried a complete reinstall of picore, but still the same.
Attached is the Scanner log file, i really hope that somebody can help me here again, having updated my Synology to DSM7 is a total nightmare:-(
Thank you

That would be after a rescan, but not a full wipe? I believe this has
been a problem with LMS rescans "forever" and is not limited to online
music.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered somewhere else, if it has I couldn't find it.
At some point between LMS versions 7.9.x and 8.0.x the volume display on the screen on my 3 SB3's changed from a horizontal bar to a written db reading IE "-35 db"
I think that it was the change from 7.9 to 8.0 that this coincided with, however I'm now on 8.0.1 and I've just noticed that the display has gone back to the horizontal bar.
Is this a setting somewhere ? I rather preferred the "Gain" reading rather than the bar.
Thanks

Hi,
I am running LMS 8.0.0 on a Synology machine (x86_64). The following issues appear equally when using the LMS web interface or my Android controllers (SqueezeCtrl, Orange Squeeze). Full text search plugin is activated (Can I work on the settings anywhere, can't find it...?) I have two problems related to search functions:
1) I enter in the regular search field field an artist name - it doesn't matter which name - as a result always (!) 67 artists appear in the artists category among which the searched artist is. However, the results for the albums category is correct! Only albums of the respective artists are shown. Actually, artist search is effectively not usable right now...
2) Is there a way or a plugin to activate a search history for my music as in Spotty? I think it's rather tiresome to type in alway the search terms...

I have a faily large collection (140k+ tracks of variying quality) and am wanting to move away from Synolgy and they're soon to be dropping their support.
I purched an Optiplex 9020 w/8gb ram and stuck a 1tb SSD in the there to house my muisic collection and whatever software I choose. I tried Daphile but getting the files on the same drive as daphile has been proven to be difficult
I would love a barebones Picoreplayer/LMS install experience but dont seem to see Picoreplayer for x86-64.
Debian/ubuntu service is always a route I could take but am wanting the least headaches.
Any help would be greatly appreciate!
