Hi this is probably a really silly question, but I am not able to move music files within the Logitech Music Server. At the moment I am ripping CDs on to my Windows PC und copying them into the USB Drive attached to the LMS. Unfortunately they are going directly into the folder: Music Files instead of into Albums. I don't know why. Is there a way within LMS to move the files from "Music Files" into "Albums", or to make sure they go directly into "Albums" in the first place?. I haven't found a way do this. I'd appreciate any help as I am new (obviously) to this.

Fresh install on Debian not working
Hi there,
I just set up a fresh Debian 10.6, with Samba and tried to install LMS 8. The Service seems to be running, but I cant connect to the Webgui.
Installation seems fine:

But when I try to connect to the Webgui, I cant connect. I also tried to connect with an Android App (Squeezer) but no connection there either.
Anyone got an idea what I forgot?

Music IP not working with LMS 8.0.0
Hi All,
Seeing the following message in the LMS server log with LMS 8.0.0:
Slim::Plugin::MusicMagic::Plugin::initPlugin (155) Can't connect to port 10002 - MusicIP disabled.
MusicIP is definitely listening on 10002:
MusicIP 274 admin 7u IPv4 0xe4fd002b6a324cff 0t0 TCP *:10002 (LISTEN)
I can reach the service with a browser via localhost or the host computer's IP from other computers/browsers on the network.
(I also tried setting Music IP to use other ports with the same result.)
I am seeing this with a clean install of LMS 8.0.0 on a clean install of OSX Mojave on a Mac mini dedicated to running nothing but LMS.
Everything is installed as a local Administrator.
Today I updated another LMS setup that was running 7.9.3 on a different Mac Mini running El Capitan where Music IP was working fine with LMS.
After updating to LMS 8.0.0, I now see the same message: Slim::Plugin::MusicMagic::Plugin::initPlugin (155) Can't connect to port 10002 - MusicIP disabled.
The only thing in common is the version of LMS.
Any thoughts anyone?

LMS 8.0.0 Keeps Rescanning Media Library
> But even if you want that scan to happen occasionally, wouldn't it be

> I'm thinking once every night would be appropriate for my needs.
It should only run the scan when a quick check showed a change in the
collection. I sometimes have four services enabled, but my last scan
happened about a day ago. Most likely a playlist which changed.
If that's not the case for you, then please enable logging for the online library
integration plugin to see what is triggering the scans.

Exclude folders on rescan LMS v. 8.0
Q. Is there a way to exclude files or folders from a library scan?
I use Goodsync to one-way synchronize my music library on my computer (donor) to the file server used by LMS (recipient). Goodsync places "_gssync_" on the recipient file server. This (GSSYNC) contains deleted or moved files that get scanned into LMS. The result is duplicates of some to the music in LMS.
There is a 14 year old thread on this topic and it is not resolved.
Is there a way to exclude items from the scan? I can think of some tricks with directory structure to achieve this. However, this is definitely a work-around.

LMS 8.0.0 Search Function Not Working
I upgraded to LMS 8.0.0 this morning and things seem to be working ok except when I select the Search option I get no results.
I type in Claire Martin and I get no results. I try Claire and I get no results.
Is there a known bug with LMS 8.0.0 which stops the Search function from working?

Hi, I've seen that this needs to be updated to work with Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.0. The old one is showing as not compatible, however when I add the repo
nothing extra shows up, so I can't see it for installation.
Please can someone tell me how to get the correct version, as the squeezebox is pretty unusable without the plugin

Installing plugins without regard to max version
(M Herger suggested I post this proposal in a separate thread. Here goes ...)
There is a parameter setting in the plugins stating the "max version" such as "7.*" which LMS honors and refuse to install or even display in the "3rd party plugins" list. However, they are retained when upgrading LMS if they are already installed. It is also possible to install them manually after editing the parameter, if they can be found and downloaded. So far this has mostly been a matter of alerting the plugin maintainer who after some initial testing (usually) updates the parameter to "8.*" or similar. But some plugins are unmaintained or the maintainer lacks the time and resources to do testing (and consequent maintenance).
With regard to the issue of older plugins not maintained and the "max version" parameter in these, can we not simply delegate the decision to install these old plugins by means of a new preference setting that controls whether the "max version" parameter is honored or not? It is already possible to force an installation manually (after editing some file in the module). If the default preference is "honor the module setting" it would require a conscious (I hope) decision by the user to override it.
Furthermore, bpa's suggestion is excellent:
As the plugin with 7.* are not presented to an LMS 8.* installation - the non compliant plugins could be placed in a repository list separate from "3rd Party Plugins" such as - "3rd party plugins - at your peril"
Likewise mherger's caution:
With a big red warning, well hidden at the
bottom of the plugins page...
I am sure there are many concerns with this proposal, not the least that it would risk exposing maintainers to support requests they have no time for.
Still, it would be interesting to hear what your thoughts are on this.

[ERROR] Disk Mount Error, Try to Reboot.
Hey guys, so I've installed pCP with LMS on my Raspberry Pi and I'm trying to mount a network drive. My Windows 7 machine is always on, and all my music is on it. I have 3 disk drives mapped as network drives, and on one of them is my music. It's on disk A in a folder named Muzika. So A:\Muzika. The Windows computer has a fixed local IP address at 192.168.0.150. You can check out some of my screenshots below. But I get this error when I try to mount it:

BBC Sounds not playing on older Squeezebox models from Synology NAS
I have LMS 8.0.0 running fine on new Synology DS220j (DSM 6.2.3), it seems to do everything except play BBC Sounds radio on my Boom and Receiver - works absolutely fine on Radio and Touch. I have installed same LMS (with apparently identical Settings/Plugins, including Advanced>File Types) on a fresh Lubuntu box and played to all my devices without any problems, so it's something to do with the NAS not sending in an acceptable form to the more modern Squeezebox devices.
No clues in the server.log
In both cases media shows as File Format: BBCSounds, Bitrate 320kbps CBR (converted to 705kbps FLAC), Sample Rate: 48.0 kHz
iPeng gives error 'Can't open file for [BBC station name]' which I guess is a big clue but I don't know what to do about it.
Sure I'm missing something really obvious to select or install extra on the NAS, any advice gratefully received. Using a NAS completely new to me.

Upgrade to LMS 8.0 on WHS 2011
Hi all, so I feel a bit dim asking this question, but I have just never done it before.
I've been using Squeezebox's for quite some time now, running LMS 7.7.2 on a Windows Home Server 2011 with very few problems. Now that LMS 8.0 is a stable version I feel it may be time to upgrade to help with https streaming etc.
My question is this, is it just a case of downloading the new LMS 8.0 file and installing it and it upgrades my current version and keeps settings etc., or, do I need to uninstall the old version and then re-set everything back up again.
Sorry for the dumb question, I just set it up the server originally and haven't really had to touch it since.
Thanks

Problems with TuneIn
I have three Logitech Squeezebox Radio units. They are all linked to LMS running on a Windows 7 computer and I am now currently running LMS 7.9.3. I am located in the UK.
I have had a number of stations defined in mysqueezebox.com and also as favourites on the TuneIn website. These stations show up in those matching locations on the Squeezebox units. The stations always play fine via the TuneIn website. The stations in my list are UK stations but as I am in the UK they work fine as mentioned via the TuneIn website.
I am finding that many of the stations fail to play on my Squeezebox units but not all the time. Some stations e.g. Virgin Radio always work but stations like Radio X are particularly unreliable.
I have entered the username in the LMS settings and the mysqueezebox.com settings. As mentioned even the problem stations some times work.
Does anyone have any ideas why they fail? The Squeezebox shows different error messages for different stations. Currently Radio X results in 'Problem: Can't connect to server for Radio X' some other stations say 'Connection timed out: Bad file descriptor'. The exact same errors occur when using favourites in the TuneIn app, or browsing the list of stations in the TuneIn app or the mysqueezebox.com list.

LMS :: Can't get it to run under macOS Cataline 10.15.7

What you're running is not LMS, but the "UE Smart Radio Music Library"
(or whatever the name was...). Get LMS instead:
