Hi,
I just upgraded my Ubuntu version to 2019.10 eoan and am getting this perl version error when trying to start LMS:
The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Logitech Media Server:
Audio::Scan (loaded 1.02, need 0.93)
googling, I see that this was fixed in october 2018 (for PiCorePlayer) so am guessing that this is no longer a problem in LMS 7.9.3~1579448956
Any ideas how I can find the real problem?
cpan[2]> install Audio::Scan
Audio::Scan is up to date (1.01).
apt install libaudio-scan-perl
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libaudio-scan-perl is already the newest version (1.01-1build1).
BR.

Is this a feature that's disabled / unsupported?
myLMSserver:port/stream.mp3 does not play.
I think I'm using the latest version from pinkdot but I'll get this checked when I'm home.

The browser definitely should not have any impact on the number of
albums. Are you sure you're looking at the same collection?

Yesterday I upgraded my trusted old server to the newest stable version: Debian 10 "Buster", and now I cannot start the slimserver service. I realize that there are some path problems with this upgrade as many of the basic command-line commands don't work without running the export PATH command first. Anyone else experienced this problem and may be know what to do?
Seems like the saying "If it works, fix it 'til it don't!" have fulfilled itself this time :(

Hi,
I'm running LMS 7.9.1 on a RaspPi 3 with UPnP/DLNA Media Interface V1 plugin enabled (max2play distribution) to provide the media lib to some DLNA players in parallel to my Squeeceplayers.
Basically it works nicely, DLNA server performance is great when browsing the files (way faster than DLNA on my fritzbox), but after some days the DLNA plugin silently stops working, meaning the DLNA server is not visible anymore.
How to debug such a plugin issue?
How do I query the true state of a running plugin (LMS web interface just tells it's active).
Is it possible to restart a plugin on it's own?
Any specific low level (logging) options for this plugin?
Regards, Toby

Turned on my Windows 10 PC this morning and LMS is not running properly. But it was working fine yesterday.
In the system tray it says Logitech Media Server Starting, but normally that changes to Running. But today stays on Starting.
PC is running Windows 10.
I then tried upgrading to LMS 7.9 2 but this made no difference.
The Web Control will not open.
When I open the LMS Control Panel and I select Information fab, it just says No Status Information Available.
If I select Diagnostics, I get the following:
LMS Running
Server IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Port 3483 (slimproto): ok
Port 9000 (HTTP):
Port 9090 (CLI): Failed
Alert: LMS is running but cant be contacted on port 9000

Is there any possibility of LMS ever being able to access music files stored on Cloud services such as Dropbox?

I use a lot of (long) playlists and keep adding music to them. Sometimes it happens that I add a track that's already there. Is there a way to search for possible double entries? It would be nice when you would get a notification when you add a track that's already there, like the Spotify does. I have the playlist manager installed.

Hi,
Yesterday, and today, I've found LMS crashing whenever I attempted to browse my library.
I can browse, and play music, from my Squeezebox but not from my PC.
Everything else appears okay, e.g. 'Albums', apart from browsing 'Album Artists', 'All Artist', 'Composers' or 'Genres'.
I've attached log file and Events file but not sure what else may be required to ascertain the problem.
Thanks for any help.
Steve
P.S. It works fine when running LMS in 'Safe Mode'.

I just installed a new instance of LMS on a laptop while away from home. I am missing a random album menu item that used to appear under "my music" and gave a list of randomly chosen albums from which I could choose. Can someone remind me where this might have come from (plugin? modified LMS version?) and how I can get it again. I seem to remember that it was something that Michael Herger created. The LMS version I installed is 7.9.3 - 1579448956 @ Mon Jan 20 04:10:14 CET 2020

The simplest way to get LMS on a Pi is to install either Picoreplayer or Max2Play.
Here are the 'official' guides:
Max2Play -
https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/starter-guide/
Picoreplayer -
https://www.picoreplayer.org/main_getting_started.shtml
[Official LMS installation software is at
https://mysqueezebox.com/download - includes Windows and MACos versions]
Many unofficial install guides are available via google search - YMMV .
Once a basic working version of LMS is installed (where I recommend leaving your local music library unspecified in the initial setup - this can be done at a later stage) the next step is to install the upnp/dlna bridge plugin for LMS
(See below).

When you're saying "TuneIn Radio", are you talking about the TuneIn app,
or the Internet Radio menu item?

I have Logitech Media Server Version : 7.9.2 - 1578996832 and 3 picoreplayers (Modèle platine : SqueezeLite - Type platine : squeezelite - Micrologiciel : v1.8.7-1052)
Wake up alarms are installed with Radio starting @ 7:00 am.
Since some time, the radio channels are replaced by an alarm (Image is a bird corresponding to slim backup alarm )
What is the reason for this annoying situation ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I know this issue comes up a lot- but I swear I've scoured the forum and can't find threads on it...
I recently had to reinstall LMS, which rebuilt my music database from scratch, and I'm having splitting problems that didn't exist before.
9 out of 10 songs will be on one album, the 10th will be on a new identical album. With the exact same name, capitalization and spelling...
The second problem is that I have multiple of the same artists with different capitalization. Which is very frustrating.
A third problem which I understand the cause of is some artists with "The" in their name are showing up as multiple artists:
The Stills
Stills, The
I know the best solution is to "fix" my tags but with many thousands of songs it's a big task...
Is there a way to fix the capitalization splits.. and how do I fix these albums split on seemingly nothing (see attached):

Hi all,
it won`t be long and I´m going cracy - would be great if someone can help me out.
I do have LMS 7.9.1 running on a Synology NAS.
I believe I had the following scenario anytime in the past already running - but not sure.
I can´t figure out how to run following scenario with 2 Touch and one SB player:
Touch A and Touch B should be synchronized and power on/off together.
SB C should be synchronized, but powered on/off individual when needed.
Settings in LMS:
Touch A: Synchronize with Touch B & C -- Power on/off: In Group
Touch B: Synchronize with Touch A & C -- Power on/off: In Gruop
SB C: Synchronize with Touch A & B -- Power on/off: independent
If I am only using Touch A&B all works like expected.
When in addition I power on "SB C" all works like expected -- BUT for whatever reason when I power off "SB C" the Touch A&B also power off - why??
What settings are wrong - or do I have to apply the settings in a special order?
Thanks so much in advance for your support

I am new to this forum and did see a thread about a similar issue but not the answer to it - hence reposting my problem. Spotty no longer works with my LMS. When I select Spotty in LMS or select squeezebox in Spotify the connection does no longer work and I get the error log as below? How can I fix this? I am using LMS 7.9.2 and Spotty is v3.1.3. Thanks for any hints!

Hello there,
For a couple of weeks, maybe more, LMS crashes silently and randomly (but at the rate of roughly once an hour).
The logs aren't very helpful, but you might see soething more. Here they are, before the crash and after I restarted the server:
[20-01-31 18:58:38.5704] Slim::Web::Graphics::__ANON__ (403) Artwork resize for music/7df8b5bb/cover_92x92.jpg failed

As for the setup:
Logitech Media Server Version : 7.9.3 - 1580338236 @ Thu Jan 30 04:07:41 WEST 2020
OS : Windows 10 - FR - cp1252
Usually the only player is Squeeze Player on Android.
Any clue ?

Hi Michael,
I've install LMS8.0.0 on a picore 6.0.0b7 and all is working exactly as it did before, but
1. I have the Qobuz plugin but can't seem to "Drill Down" in the home menu unless I'm missing something.
2. Will I get LMS notification when updates come along or I will have to do another manual install?
All working perfectly otherwise so no urgency.

Hi.
I'm in the process of settings up LMS on ya RPi4. I do it from scratch. Building CPAN asf.
I have a question.
The (custom-)convert.conf files are spread all over the place on different OS installations.
The location can not be chosen via "default" locations as it seems.
I basically can not tell LMS where to look for the files at startup. LMS looks only in the lms root-directory (usually /usr/share/"lms") by default.
Ubuntu and others leave the convert files at /etc/squeezeboxserver, pCP under its LMS rootdir /usr/local/slimserver/ ( which is not nice) , asf.
I am wondering if a user accessible location, which already exists, wouldn't be a much better choice for at least
the custom.convert.conf??
I'd prefer to go for /var/lib/"lms"/prefs . To me that looks much better than above examples. It also wouldn't need a separate LMS backup procedure.
What I don't know:
How can I configure such a location?
Can I make LMS scan that location as default-location for a custom-convert.conf ?
Thx.
