I've had a Squeezebox Radio for several years but it will not stay connected to the internet. It says it is using the current software version. I have a main router (and also a wifiextender in the same room). Other devices work, but not the radio. Problem started a couple weeks ago although there were intermittent disconnects before. I don't know where to start.

LMS and Mac OSX 11 (Big Sur)

I've been testing betas ever since I got them. LMS should work. But I
don't use it on a daily basis... so, yes, it should just work. But
please let me know should you encounter any issues. I did have to tweak
a few lines to make it compatible with Big Sur.
That is on Intel hardware. I have no idea yet what is going to happen on
an Apple Silicon based system...

Media Server 7.9.2 not working on ReadyNAS Ultra
Hi, I have just tried to upgrade LMS from 7.9.1 to 7.9.2. I was able to run the installation onb my NAS, but I couldn't see the server on http://192.168.87.142:9000/ after the installation. Tried upgrading to 7.9.3 and 7.9.4 but with the same result.
Does anyone know what could be the issue here?

I am trying to install LMS 8 on a NAS runningt Synology OS (it's a HP Micro Server with DSM 5.0-4493, running great). I have LMS 7.7.3 now and it's been running with no issues for several years now.
Hope that someone can help me with following:
1. How to install LMS 8 on my NAS? Is there another repository, the one in the screenshot is not accessible. If I choose to install the LMS 8 package manually, where can I download latest version in correct format for my nas?
2. Do I need to uninstall LMS 7.7.3 first?

FLAC streams - native decoding?
Naim have recently released some FLAC webstreams:
https://naim.freshdesk.com/support/s...115-naim-radio
I have a few LMSes installed on various devices.
One on an O2 Joggler and another on my Synology NAS.
I've found that when I try to play the Naim FLAC streams through my Joggler (LAME-enabled), they play fine.
But trying to play the FLACs through my Synology (without LAME) fails.
I was under the impression that Squeezeboxes didn't need to transcode FLACs and could play them natively.
Why the difference in result?
My file type settings for FLAC are:
AIFF - flac
FLAC - native
MP3 - disabled (Synology) / flac/lame (Joggler)
PCM - flac
The error I get when trying to play through LMS on my NAS is..
"Problem: Cannot open file for:
<Stream name>"

Ok, you seem to feel comfortable on the command line. What we see here
is that you get pretty far in the bootstrap process. The above line
comes from:

Could you please add a bunch of "print" statements after this, to see
where it exits? Eg. before each of the following "if" statements and
right at the end of the "loadModules" section. Then re-run to see how
far we get in there.
The file should be in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Slim/bootstrap.pm or similar.

Logitech Media Server 8.0.0 released!
I'm seriously excited to announce the availability of Logitech Media Server 8.0.0 as the new stable release. The new version might not look too different from 7.x at first. But the integration of online music services into your music library marks a big step up in functionality - which deserves a new major version number.
Logitech Media Server 8 adds a lot of improvements for users of online music. But there's more:
The more complete Changelog can be found here.
I believe that this release has more community contributed improvements than we had in many previous versions. I'm therefore very happy to thank community members Philippe_44, ralphy, bpa, blackfiction, Johan, jcbodnar, keynet, sciurius, oleg-kuh, snoopy86, michaeldie, terual, pascalberger, and whomever I might have missed very much for all their contributions. Logitech Media Server wouldn't be as great as it is without your help! Thanks a lot!
Oh, and if you like to control your Squeezebox from your computer or mobile device: don't forget to install the Material skin. I usually don't recommend must-have plugins. But Craig really is taking the web UI to the level I wanted to reach with Logitech Media Server a long time ago!
Free the music!
Logitech Media Server 8 adds a lot of improvements for users of online music. But there's more:
- Import your online music library to your music library. No matter whether your favorite album or artist is stored on your disk, or on some music service - it shows up right where you expect "your music" to be.
- https is the new http: most web sites nowadays are delivered over the secure https protocol. And so are more and more online music streams. Logitech Media Server 8 allows you to continue to listen to your favorite stations, as well as music services like TIDAL.
- Allow to paste TIDAL and Deezer web links to the Tune In field (or use the corresponding CLI command) to play those items.
- Plugins now can use SOCKS to access online sources.
- Helper applications (faad, flac) have been updated, as well as some of the Perl libraries, like Audio::Scan (not all supported platforms).
- Docker is everywhere. A Logitech Media Server image is now available on Docker Hub.
- Updated translations for Swedish and Dutch.
The more complete Changelog can be found here.

Several Radio Stations and Podcasts won't stream
Hi togehther,
i'm a bit at a loss on how to try to fix not playing Radio Stations or Podcasts to work.
I'm using a number of Squeezelite Players (PiCore Player 6.1.0) on RasperryPi's mostly with HifiBerry DAC+ and AMP2 as well as some IQAudiO Boards.
Besides the PiCore Player I also use 2 SqueezeBox Radios, 2 Squeeze Touch Players and one remaining Duet Player.
Squeezebox LMS iwt 7.9.3.xxxxx. It runs presently under Ubuntu LTS 14.04 together with my FHEM Homeautomation.
I'm currently setting up a new Server on LTS20.04
To Control the Environment I use Squeezepad on the Tablets and iPeng on my iPhone or for automated functions and Voice Output of
the Homeautomation as well FHEM..
Since roughly 3-4 weeks I cant get some Radio Stations playing anymore that used to work (BBC World News, Seabreeze 106.3).
The Podcasts of the SRF never worked so far on the Radios. Since the Podcasts weren't working, I tried to install LAME additionally
in order to maybe fix the issues with the Podcasts. After installing LAME i haven't tried using the 2 Radiostations so I'm not sure if
installing lame caused the Issue with the stations.
As well the Podcasts as the Radio Stations will work when:
- I control the Squeezepad Player on my Tablet from the LMS
- I take the URL of the 3 attached Logfile Parts and run them on my Win10 in the VLC Player. So the URL's aren't the Issue.
To debug I tried to neable some Logs to gather Information but I'm not sure If it were the right ones.
Attached You will find the Logfiles of the following trials:
- unsucessful: PiCore Player 6.1.0 trying to load BBC World News
- unsucessful: PiCore Player 6.1.0 trying to load Swiss SRF Podcast "Focus"
- sucessful: SqueezePad Player loading Swiss SRF Podcast "Focus"
When playing both in VLC, checking the Stream Information states the used Codec beeing mpga.
It seems to me that I have some sort of problem with MP3 File Types.
Any help on getting this issue fixed would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Philipp

Update failed - now LMS won't start
When trying to update to 7.9.3 (was 7.9.1), which failed, LMS stopped. Now, won't start even as Administrator. I opened Control Panel as Administrator, clicked on "Start Logitech Media Server" - it initially says its running, but after a couple of seconds it stops. Tried several times, no luck. Suggestions?
Update: simply went ahead and installed 8.0 and now the server starts. Unfortunately, I now have to re-set many preferences, but at least it works.

TIDAL not working on LMS 7.9.3 - cant find 8.x version for DSM 5.2

I see that others have resolved the same problem with the upgrade to LMS 8.0.0, but I dont find any 8.x version for DSM 5.2, as my Synology DS1010+ cant get to a higher DSM per my understanding.
Is this the end of my DS1010+ running LMS with TIDAL or have I missed an upgrade path?
If its the end - will a Raspberry Pi be a good alternative with a mount to the files on the NAS and with what spec ?
Appreciate your support.

How can I re-install missing Plug-In (Database Query) ?

I inadvertently removed the Database Query from the Plug-ins page. I must have unchecked it, and then hit apply. Now it is gone. :(
Is there a process to restore it? It is not listed in Inactive PlugIns.
Thanks in advance

I inadvertently removed the Database Query from the Plug-ins page. I must have unchecked it, and then hit apply. Now it is gone. :(
Is there a process to restore it? It is not listed in Inactive PlugIns.
Thanks in advance
